The effectiveness of a suspension bridge lies in the fact that the load is shared. There is a synergy of components which act as a force united and share the burden placed on them. The balance seems to be fragile, but it is in that giving and taking that what seems impossible, just works. Delicate anchor chains suspend a magnificent pendant, creating a fortuitous moment where all is in place and working in harmony.
It’s rather refreshing knowing that things are getting better.
It seems 2020 (deservingly, we admit) is becoming known as the “one of the worst years ever!”.
And albeit fair, we would like to pitch another idea. Has 2020 not taught most of us that empathy is what saves lives? Has it not forced many families who previously lived past each other to reconnect and enjoy each other?
It’s taught appreciation, it’s taught gratitude. It’s taught us not to take the little things for granted: a meal with good company, a hug, a celebration shared with family and friends. It’s shown us that the human spirit is resilient, as are the buds that are readying themselves for full bloom not too long from now.
And as we stand in the month of August, we stand with hearts filled with gratitude for our clients, our families (both at home and work), and a quiet optimism that this year has taught the world to be kind, and to enjoy the moments that are so generously strewn into our lives.
As we reflected on these moments, we asked how we could capture moments where time seems to stand still and life is in perfect harmony, in a range of jewellery. Moments that would alter our thinking or, sometimes, completely shift our paradigm.
Why? Because at Uwe Koetter, we believe that jewellery should not only be beautiful, but meaningful too. It should not only celebrate moments, but capture their essence in a way that reminds us of them. With this in mind, we created our Serendipity range, which aims to answer one question: What was that moment for you?
