Engagement Ring Consultations at Uwe Koetter Jewellers: What to Expect

A Thoughtful Beginning to a Meaningful Journey

Commissioning an engagement ring is a deeply personal experience, and at Uwe Koetter Jewellers, we believe the journey should feel just as considered as the piece itself. Our engagement ring consultations are designed to educate, guide, and support you, ensuring that every decision is made with confidence and clarity.

Clients are welcome to visitour store without an appointment, where they are invited to relax with a glass of water, coffee, or tea while discussing their ideas with one of our experienced sales experts. For those who prefer to begin remotely, enquiries can also be submitted via our website or email. Our consultants can manage the entire process via WhatsApp, as well.

Exploring Design, Stones, and Materials

While some clients arrive with a clear vision, others may only have a general sense of what they like. Both approaches are equally welcome. Bringing reference images or inspiration can be helpful, as it allows our team to better understand your personal style. From there, we are able to design a ring that is entirely unique, while still aligned with your preferences.

For those unsure where to begin, our extensive archive of previously crafted rings offers valuable insight into what is possible. Each design serves as a starting point, helping clients discover shapes, proportions, and details that resonate with them. At Uwe Koetter Jewellers, no design is impossible. It is simply a matter of finding the right solution.

During the consultation, we will discuss stone options in detail. This includes whether you prefer a natural diamond, a lab-grown diamond, or an alternative gemstone.

As engagement rings are typically worn every day, we may advise against softer stones such as moss agate, tanzanite, emeralds, amethysts, and opals, as these are more prone to wear over time.

The number of stones, their shapes, and the type of setting will also be carefully considered, with longevity and structural integrity always guiding our recommendations.

From Budget to Craftsmanship and Beyond

Metal choice is another important part of the conversation. Clients may choose between yellow gold, white gold, platinum, or other options, and we take time to explain the differences in durability, appearance, and cost. While we generally advise against silver due to its tendency to scratch easily, we always respect our clients’ preferences and work accordingly.

Understanding your budget is essential to the process. Our sales experts work transparently within your chosen price range, suggesting thoughtful adjustments to stone size, metal type, or setting if needed. The objective is always to achieve a result that feels right, without unnecessary compromise.

For clients considering a classic solitaire design, we offer a stone-size kit with templates of various diamond shapes and sizes. This allows you to see how different stones look and feel on your finger before making a final decision.

Once the consultation is complete, the design phase begins. Your ring is carefully designed and rendered using CAD, with images and updates shared throughout. This is an opportunity to refine details or make adjustments before final approval. After the design and quotation are confirmed, a small deposit is required and manufacturing begins. Throughout this process, our team remains in close contact, ensuring you feel supported at every step of this meaningful journey.

Revealing the final ring for the first time is always a special moment. Many of our clients later share their engagement and wedding photographs with us, allowing us to remain part of such a significant and deeply personal memory. It is moments like these that remind us why we do what we do.

A 2026 Engagement Ring Promotion

To mark the year ahead, we are pleased to offer a special engagement ring promotion. Clients who commission an engagement ring with Uwe Koetter Jewellers during 2026 will receive 20% off their wedding bands.

This offer remains valid even if the wedding bands are commissioned in a later year, provided the engagement ring was created with us in 2026.T&C’s Apply.

An engagement ring is more than a piece of jewellery. It is the beginning of a story, crafted with care, intention, and lasting meaning.
